VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering for the Whitby Historical Society is a great way for people of all ages and abilities to meet new friends, learn new skills, make connections and contribute to the sustainability of the WHS and the Lynde House Museum. Volunteers contribute by hosting tours, leading workshops and school groups, performing heritage skill demonstrations, helping at special events, caring for the Heritage Kitchen Garden, fundraising, acting as stewards for the Lynde House and its artifacts, serving teas, and making guests feel welcomed and informed.

Volunteering offers a sense of belonging and purpose, and is also a fun way for high school students to complete their community involvement hours. Volunteers are the backbone of the Whitby Historical Society and their valuable contributions helps us to fulfill our mandate.

If you would like to learn more about our volunteer opportunities, please drop by during regular operating hours to introduce yourself to our Museum Manager, Lisa Johnson, and complete a Volunteer Application form.
