DONATIONS 

The Whitby Historical Society (#10820 6228 RR 0001) gratefully accepts personal monetary donations, bequests, and corporate sponsorships to help with operating expenses and Museum activities. Tax receipts may be requested for all monetary donations over $25.00.

In addition to monetary donations, we will consider in-kind donations of:

  • Items with historical significance to Whitby (including Brooklin, Ashburn and Myrtle).
  • Lynde, Warren and Woodruff family artifacts, photographs and documents. 
  • Historic documents, photos, diaries, and pre-1920 newspapers from the Whitby area.
  • 19th century housewares which may be used in the Museum, or for demonstrations.
  • Antique (pre-1920) clothing and accessories with a significant connection to Whitby.

All prospective donations will be assessed in accordance with our Collections Policy. If you have an item for donation which is not listed above, please contact us to confirm interest. To be considered for the collection, objects should have a history of use in the local community. We cannot accept donations of large furniture or pianos. Tax receipts are available for all accepted in-kind donations valued over $25.00.
